Tommy Donbavand

Tommy Donbavand is the author of the 13-book Scream Street series (published n over a dozen languages worldwide), and the exciting new Fangs: Vampire Spy series from Walker Books.

He has written many titles for reluctant and struggling readers, including Zombie!, My Teacher Ate My Brain, Wolf, They Came From Class 6C, Virus and Uniform – which won the 2011 Hackney Short Novel Award.

His latest books for struggling readers include The Terrible Tale of Melody Doom, Once Upon a Time, The Colony and The Head is Dead.

A huge Doctor Who fan, Tommy is thrilled to have written Shroud of Sorrow, one of three novels published by BBC Books – and the first to feature Clara – to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the TV show.

As an actor, Tommy has performed as a pantomime dame, the victimised owner of a bouncy castle, a zombie-fighting barman and more.  He also spent eight years as the Clearlake MC in the hit musical, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, in London’s West End.

Tommy lives in Lancashire with his family and an increasing number of pets.  He enjoys writing so much, that he’s worried someone will find out just how much fun he’s having and put a stop to it.
